Usually Sage (S. officinalis), with some combination of Rosemary, Lavender, Rose, Yarrow, and other locally harvested, seasonal allies.
White Sage, which is often used for “smudging”, is endangered. It is estimated that up to 90% of the sage sold in stores was poached. If you are able to do so, we promote growing your own white sage and boycotting the wild harvested material. These herbs and flowers grew right here with us- in our community, and we feel like that makes them a more appropriate ritual offering.
